Adjaranet Shuts Down
Adjaranet shut down on 23 August. Previously, the site allowed users to view iMovies, a large catalog of movies. However, due to the recent changes in its business model, Adjaranet no longer offers that feature. Instead, the company has announced its new streaming service, Cavea+, which includes a smaller catalogue of movies. The company has purportedly obtained rights to content from HBO and Warner Bros.
Adjara is home to the Adjarians, a Georgian ethnographic group who speak an Adjarian dialect of the Georgian language. In 1921, the Adjarian region of Georgia was given its own separate territorial entity, which was known as the Autonomous State of Adjara (ASSR). In 2004, this region was reunited with the Georgian state. It is located in the south-west part of Georgia. The region has a border with Turkey and is home to several Adjarian settlements.
